North Decatur UMC has been ministering to families through a variety of early childhood education programs since the 1950’s. SAND – The School At North Decatur UMC, has been a ministry of the church since 2013 where all children can “Come Learn, Be Loved and Play”. Serving over 60 students each week, this program welcomes children 1 to 4 years old from families as diverse as the community around us. SAND seeks to help families in need as often as possible by offering scholarships to help cover tuition for families experiencing hardships such as job losses, medical expenses and foster care. Our SAND families and the larger community are invited to be part of this vital ministry by supporting our on-going scholarship fund. Your sustaining donation can support a child for 1 day a month, 1 week a month or the whole month. Please consider how you can help share God’s love through this community outreach of NDUMC.

SAND Preschool: Because childhood should look like ....
"You can teach a lesson for a day, but if you teach curiosity, you teach for a lifetime."
What Our Parents are Saying about SAND:
“As parents it's so crucial to feel confidence and trust when you drop off your child somewhere and we feel that 110% at SAND!"
"SAND means a lot to me. You were an amazing support system at a time when I was still trying to gain my footing as a new mom.”
“… thank you for making our first preschool experience such a positive one!!”
"You guys have an amazing program! My son attended for the 1st time last week and each day said 'I wanna go back to school, mommy!'. …. I'm singing praises for SAND school all over the community!"
“Thanks so much for welcoming my son to SAND! He had such a great first introduction to school. He was always excited to go, and I hope that carries over to preschool and the rest of his school years.”
“He really loves his class, and our family is very happy with (our son’s) love for school. He wasn't like that last year at the school he was attending. It might be because he is more ready to go to school, but I think it has more to do with the environment you have created at SAND.”
“I couldn’t be more grateful for (our daughter’s) experience at SAND. It’s been such a blessing for our family. She has been so loved and it’s the best gift.”
